Research Affiliate

Aarathi Krishnan specializes in Global Crisis Risk Anticipation and Foresight. 

She has worked with a range of multilateral and international organizations as well as governments globally focusing on designing anticipatory policies and systems to analyze impending risk and uncertainties Specifically she designs anticipatory risk and foresight systems that blend a wide range of risk and crisis indicators to inform institutional responses to emerging risk anticipatory policy governance. 

Most recently she has worked with UNDP to institutionalize applied foresight and anticipation systems in order to effectively see, manage, and respond to short and long-term risk signals, policies and investments. Previously she has supported a range of international humanitarian organizations on embedding institutional foresight and global strategy to drive institutional and systems transformation, including the UN Resident Coordinators, UNV, the World Bank, UNHCR, MSF, ICRC and IFRC . 

In addition, she holds previous Research Fellowships at Berkman Klein Centre for Internet and Society at Harvard University as well as a 2020-21 and 2021-22 Technology and Human Rights Fellow at the Harvard Carr Centre for Technology and Human Rights. The focus of her research was on Foresight and Decolonial Tech Ethics in Humanitarian Tech Governance
